Aithyra is co-led by Michael Bronstein (Scientific Director for AI) and Georg Winter (Scientific Director for Life Sciences), reflecting the institute’s foundational commitment to both AI and experimental biomedical research. In addition to their leadership roles, both Scientific Directors act as senior Principal Investigators (PIs) and head research groups within their respective domains, contributing directly to Aithyra’s scientific output and mentoring group leaders and early career scientists.
In 2025 four Starting Principal Investigators have been hired, the Head of Aithyra’s robotics lab, and 2 Adjunct Principal Investigators, participation in collaborative research initiatives, and contribution to the mission and academic life of the institute.
