The AITHYRA Scientific Recess 2026 brought together researchers and trainees across disciplines, and scientific support staff for a two-day retreat dedicated to strengthening collaboration at the intersection of artificial intelligence and life sciences.

A central component of the program was a series of brainstorming and breakout sessions, where participants rotated across discussion tables led by principal investigators. These sessions focused on generating collaborative initiatives, enabling participants to explore synergies across labs and disciplines in a dynamic, interactive format.

The second day emphasized the next generation of scientists, featuring short presentations by our PhD students supported by their supervisors. Additional sessions provided updates on AITHYRA scientific computing infrastructure, and the research of our AITHYRA-EPFL AI Center Adjunct PI Bruno Correia.

Thank you to all participants for the lively and fruitful discussions and thanks to our academic affairs and training team for a pub quiz which was entertaining and challenging at the same time.
